Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi
I don't really have to ask this, so I''ll just post pics of what I have done and what I'm trying to do.

To sum up: I created a grid of rectangles, found a points in a middle of each edge and now I want to connect those points. I succesfully connect points in one direction but there is a problem too, because at the end of the row, line continue in another row.
( on picture: blue is what I wont and black is what I'm trying to fix )

Thank you :)

Use Relative Items for that type of stuff. See attached

hey, thank you for this solution. I end up with a different approach ( I made branches with same x or y value, because I had uneven rows of points to connect ) but I used your way to find points on rectangle, far more simple than my attempt :)

Relative Item/Items is the recommended way for any tree combo (well ... almost).

For instance this  - the "same" with your case but in 3d - connects uneven (random) N of boxes per branch. Is doable with RI  (although as captured is carried over via code [ a very simple one]).
