algorithmic modeling for Rhino

confused about morph2d in paneling

The attached file demonstrates my confusion - two 2d patterns each of a box with curve inside. One is morphed to fill each grid cell to the boundary (which is what I would expect) - the other does not. 

What do I not understand?

While not as elegant as two components form PT, the default BoxMorph will transform any geometry regardless of control point position and bounds.
