Hi Jose,

this is a bug in the software, the error should be displayed transiently rather than with a modal window you have to manually close. I'll try and find the bug, but if I can't you may have to send me the file that is causing these errors.

Hello David,

I have attached the grasshopper script which gives the error message...

I tried to find some kind of document which would help me get around the initial set-up...What i mean is this...in this youtube tutorial [Link below] gerard peterson demos the grasshopper module ..however, he is already inside the Rhino Module...Is there any documents which provides instructions on how to get to that stage ??

Thanks a lot in advance David,

Jose

You attached a bunch of images to the initial post, but no GH file I can open.

I'm not clear on what you mean by:

"in this youtube tutorial [Link below] gerard peterson demos the grasshopper module ..however, he is already inside the Rhino Module...Is there any documents which provides instructions on how to get to that stage ??"

  1. Start Rhino
  2. Run the _Grasshopper command
  3. Do stuff in Grasshopper...

You're clearly able to make screenshots of Grasshopper already, so you must have gotten this far on your own.

I am sorry..Please find the attached script.

I would be immensely grateful if you can upload a similar script without a bug.

Thanks Again

hello.

this definition contains old components, it was composed with an earier version of grasshopper.

in these cases you go to the solution tab and select upgrade components, so grasshopper updates the old ones with the newer.

after that all these red components giving the errors just need to be replaced manually. they are the nurbs curve component. just make sure the new ones have the same d input (curve degree) as the old ones.

after that defiinition works.

hello alex,

thanks a lot for the reply...It works now and parametric hull modelling has started..just wonderful..

I have asked this question earlier, but do you know of anyone who has used the parametric modelling capabilities to do some design optimization by linking grasshopper/rhinoceros to other optimization software ?

thanks a lot ,

Jose

hello Jose

i believe there must be someone in the forum but i don't know anyone to suggest.

in this post

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/grasshopper-070055-availa...

Steve Sanderson comments and shares a definition utilizing modefrontier.

perhaps its a good start.
