Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi guys,

Would you know how to shade an existing mesh according to height values ?

thanks,

You'll have to decompose the mesh and take a look at the verticies...then reconstruct...
Great! Thanks Luis.
Would you use Giulio's definition for baking the gradient?
sorry i remembered that you told me about mode tool already, i ll try that.
the mesh should directly bake with the color info...no special baking required...to render you will need a renderer which supports per vertex shading.
That s cool, thanks ! Both maxwell and rhino render couldn't make it unfortunately,
any idea which render could take the colour into account?
have you tried brazil or flamengo? vray will not...I do not have flamengo or brazil though...
Hi Luis, is it possible to do the same operation with a surface or only with a mesh?
surfaces have no vertices to save the colorinformation
cheers to] i ll stick to mesh then.
I tried to render the baked mesh with the rhino render but it ignores the gradient texture. Is there an option to render the mesh texture?
as luis said above maybe brazil or flamingo... never tried this plugins, i use 3dsmax and there it is possible
with the standard rhino render it is not possible,....sorry

hope you have a great time in telaviv
Thanks To]!
It started yesterday.
Had the hope that you could extract the texture (using it for rapid prototyping too not just rendering).
could you explain what you want to achieve?
you want to use the color or texture for rapid prototyping?
but you have already the values which you used for coloring the mesh?
