Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey hey!

a) I have this issue in Grasshopper, and it took me a few hours without a good result.

I need to trim curves with the 2 surfaces that make up 'a piece of cake'... ;). I managed to extract the points, but there should be better options.

This version doesnt work though. I dont know how to close a brep.

Or even better:

I'd like to trimm the  hyper parabol loft surface with that 'piece of cake'.

b) I didn't find a tutorial about breps, which would probably help me as well.

Thank you.

I don't know why the Loft fails so miserably, but I used Extrusion to solve it a different way:

That cheeky 'postcard' is not a grasshopper feature, is it?

Thanks for thinking around the corner.

click file export quick image and you ll see the postcard feature.

:D great!

Hello

i tried one too. in case you like to keep the rotating control you have in your first definition, you can try the following.its with way more components compared to David's solution.

it is weird. Loft, surface from revolution, sweep etc all had invalid brep as output, except rail revolution component.

I tend to use David's version as it doesnt have so many components that make me feel uncomfortable and excited at the same time. :D

Yours indeed is more comfortable to use, especially for my further project.

I'll give it a try. :)

Thanks again.
