Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello guys!
I've got a problem. I'm trying to create new surface based on imported brep from rhino. The output surface should have filleted edges. The thing is, that no matter what I am doing, I can only create surface inside each of created curves, but actually I want the surface to be between those curves [please see attached image].

Is there an easy way to aproach this? It looks easy, but I've been playing with this for quite a few days now, and been only able to achieve this result partially, and only with mesh [but I want to stick with nurbs].

It is also important to me to use Offset component as starting point. Any help much appreciated. Even text explanation how to approach this would be awesome. Maciej

Here is an excerpt from a GH file I made some time ago that may help you. It includes a VB fillet routine I found once upon a time that is a bit quirky, but usually works OK.You have to play with the 2 Boolean variables to get the fillet to work the right way.

Note that Rhino has problems with fillets; they get pieces whacked off, at least when the geometry is exported as an STL file. I found an obscure fix for this - just prior to exporting run the Rhino "_DivideAlongCreases _SplitAtTangents=_Yes" command. I'm not really sure what this does, but it seems to fix the problems with exporting fillets.

Hello again!

First of all thanks for help Tom and Birk. It took me a couple of days to play around with tools you provided. AS Tools turned out to be pretty crazy, but unfortunately I couldn't achieve result I wanted with them [probably because my lack of eperience with grasshopper]. In the end I've managed to find a way in grasshopper vanilla to create chamfer-like shape of the edges. It's a bit janky, but it works in my cases. Anyway, thanks again :)
