algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hello Everyone,
I'm running into a problem trying to get facetted panels to node out cleanly while maintaining planar surfaces on both the inside and outside faces of 3/4" panels. I've tried a number of different solutions, ranging from using meshes to trying the WB offset component which unfortunately crashed... to scripts that planarize the curves.
Essentially the only solution I can think of is to create the planar surfaces and then orient3pt each face into place. The problem with this is that inevitably I lose track of which face was the original base point and then things start to go out of alignment.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I've attached both the Rhino model and the GH file I've started working on here.
Thanks in advance for the help...

Hey Taz,
Thanks for the response. I'll check out the references and keep you posted.
Hey Taz,
I tried cooking up a definition that follows on from Daniel's Torsion Free solution, but I'm getting a little lost. If you have a moment, could you take a look at this definition and let me know what you think. I have some mesh faces that are flipped and also I was able to create the mesh edges but not guarantee the planarity of the large faces... Anyhow your thoughts would be greatly appreciated. I'll try posting this on the Kangaroo page as well and hopefully Daniel might have some input on how to approach this...
Thanks,
Omri
