Centre box extruding in both directions?

Hi,

I was following the digital tool box tuts making an interval box of studs. Everything is fine except the height of the boxes in the z plane extrudes both negative and positive. How can I make the extrusion just positive in the z plane?

Hi Robwan,

Use the "Domain Box" component, instead of "Center box" one. Like this:

How did know the expression had to be -A/2 and B/2 in order to make the box uniform scale from the centre outwards?

Domian Box defines Boxes in a "from...to" way (Domains). In order to have a box with x dimension of A, you need to move half of A in negative and half in positive X to define start and end.

ok yea i think i got it know, without the expression the end result would just scale out in one direction. The expression changes this so it becomes - and + on both sides, so if the slider was set to 8 you will get -4 and 4, which is effectively scaling from the centre in both directions :) Thanks! that's really helpful.
