algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi everyone,
I'm a 4th year architecture student in London. I've trawled the internet for a script or tutorial on this, there are some varying methods but nothing that's really hit the nail on the head.
I was hoping someone might be able to point me in the direction of a gh script to help me establish a network of catenary vaults across a hexagonal grid, with each hexagon holding it's own vault.
Ideally I will be able to re-position anchor points and pull heights for each vault.
Thanks very much.

That's a massive help.
Thank you very much Daniel.
Daniel, how can I make the vault so that it's basically like a sheet being draped, with anchor points on the corners only?
reverse gravity
Hey Danny,
cheers, sorry, I don't think I was very clear in my last post. I want to keep the same upward catenary, but without all anchor points surrounding the dome. So, basically along each line of the hexagon the vault is open, with load points focused into the corners.
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks.
Will
Will,
A quick and dirty way for you to do this is to manually cull the list of anchor points. Just pick them from a flattened list and feed into Kangaroo. Without reverse engineering Daniel's def, it leaves you with a bunch of dangley loose ends so I also just dispatched them for a minimum length.
There are of course more systematic ways to cull those anchor points and handle loose ends. But then it wouldn't be quick and dirty :)
