algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hello all,

For some reason I cant offset a planar curve that exists in the xz plane.

Any ideas? Thanks

How do we know it's a planar curve?

Mmm check the def or check for planarity.

Hint: you didn't internalize the curve

Ups my bad. There, fixed it. I cant do it with any curve though so any curve would do.

I don't remember the exact definition of 'Offset' now, but the main point is that it creates a new curve which is at a certain distance from base curve at any curve point and is created on the same plane with the base (planar)curve.

Here is an image of the result - the red curve is the proper result of Offset component. In case you were trying to create a curve similar to the blue one, you should just use 'Move' component (and not that the whole thing can be much more compact):
