Can I sort curves in branches by the X value of the start point?

Hi,

I have a lot of planar curves. Some of them have the same X value at the startpoint of the curve.

Can I sort my curves in tree-branches by the X value of the start point? So every X should have its own branch.

Hello Tom,

Unfortunately not.

Hello Tom,

I need the tree structure to remain.
and the sort does not work. See attached .gs file

Mmmm, for example {5;19} and {5;20} are not sorted

How can I change the script so that the it starts with {0;0} instead of {1;0}?

Try This Simple Native GH Option

Hi Matt,

Thanks. I need to have all curves with the same x value in a separate subbranches. For example item 15 and 16 of branch {4} are to be in the same subbrance {4;?}. It would be great to solve that with native GH.

Ok Try this Bas, Hopefully fully works as expected now.

Hi,

The puzzle is still not finished. I understand the idea of your approach, but the result of the MIndex and List item is not good. I have made a dispay filter to see the result per main branch. Have a look at the .gh file. Each main branch is containing frames from the other branches and is missing a lot of frames. I have puzzled a long time, but I need some help.

Hi,

I have attached a GH file where I test the above method starting with one and with multiple branches. It only works fine with one single main branch.

I hope someone can help.
