algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

Im working on a steel gridshell for my thesis and i wonder if i can add a spectral analysis after done the natural vibration analysis.

Also, i need to know how the "buckling modes" component work, in particular if it is a linear or non linear analysis.

Hi,

the buckling modes are calculated using a linear buckling analysis. The buckling load factors come out as the eigenvalues 'lambda' of the general eigenvalue problem 'det(C_elast - lambda*C_geom)=0' where 'C_elast' is the linear elastic stiffness matrix and 'C_geom' the geometric stiffnes matrix.

For a spectral analysis one needs a result superimposition component in Karamba 1.3.0 which is not yet there. A workaround would be to write a script on your own for doing the superimposition.  Yet the results could not be fed into the Karamba cross section optimization procedure.

Best,

Clemens
