algorithmic modeling for Rhino
hi
i have a problem, i want to make a substraction between two breps, one is included into the other.
i tried using "solid difference" but it doesnt work since the brep that i want to substract is completley included into the other brep. ( just like in rhino-boolean diffrence ).
in the picture, i want to substract the red brep from the green brep
any help?

How does this relate in a street smart sense to how SolidWorks defines objects? I don't quite understand what "solids" are in such programs.
I often use Geomagic Freeform which like the ZBrush/MODO upstart competitor 3DCoat actually uses voxels, 3D pixels, which are not mathematically defined surfaces, just raw data akin to 3D versions of black and white 2D images.
It's very rewarding how responding to beginner's questions helps us see under the veil.
Well ... each one in his own game: Rhino is a surface modeller some other things are solid modellers and some other are subdivision modellers (like MODO). TSplines could change some stuff on that matter ... but ... Autodesk has other plans in mind.
Given the opportunity the main reason to use a solid modeller is ... well .. the fact that when you arrive in a polysurface (in a surface modeller) this signals the end of the road whilst in the solid apps it's just the beginning.
That said the best solid thingy out there is Siemens NX closely followed by CATIA (SolidEdge and SolidWorks are both owned by these 2).
The best way to get the gist of these things is to find some friend who (hopefully) knows his onions and ask for a 5 minutes demo.
