algorithmic modeling for Rhino
I always find lots of cool tutorials and examples on how to make cool patterns.
The only problems is that those are always made on single surfaces.
Coming from product design, I always have to deal with Breps and I always have an hard time to figure out how to deal with them in GH.
Here is an example:
I thought to create longitudinal sections that I would then divide by lenght to get cross sections so to then create a quad mesh.
I was wondering if there is actually a better tested process and I am maybe taking a completely inadequate root.
I am not even sure if a Quad Mesh would be usefull in creating patterns ? you actually need a surface with UV?
btw I got stuck in mine effort when I relised that my curves don't have same direction

Using a very "unsuitable" collection of flattish BrepFaces (and PRIOR implementing freaky grid distortion techniques [attractors et all]) here's a preview of the things to come provided that Lewis/Valentino would deliver the goods this w/e:
Of course a "pattern" could mean some stuff created as stand-alone or used as a tool for some sort of boolean opp (like perforating etc).
Of course the hit points (the white ones) could yield an "ordered" mesh (kinda like dividing a single surface in U/V) that could be further "relaxed" without Kangaroo (or with it).
lol, I actually believed it for a split second, then sadly realised there was no link to purchase.
I was looking at the Paneling Tool manual and I was wondering if your example is sort of a more refined method following the concept of the ptGridCurve command (p.19 .. / p.27.. - Use approximate surface and Project or Pull command at p.30 is interesting too)?
not quite sure though on how Kangaroo goes into the equation of getting an ordered mesh
