Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi fellows ,

I need your help . I cant join untrimed surfaces into brep and I donot know how to debug .

As the follow picture shows, i have this four curves ,and I wanna loft them and get four boundary surfaces:

After that, I tried to join them together within gh ,but gh did nothing and give me four surfaces .I baked them into rhino ,and join them in rhino environment ,rhino just joined two surface into one open brep and leave the left two surfaces there . I donot know what's wrong I had done and how to debug this ??Thanks for help !!

Hi DeDackel ,

Thanks for your help !! This method works, but sometimes not works prefectly .see picture below:

What's the best way to make a "stright" and smooth loft ?? I tried to modify the loft options, cant get the prefect result .Any tips ?? Any one ?

Hey

this has to do with the curve seams.

try to use the loft options and "adjust seam" to "True"

If this not woks...I will search for a ghx I got

One way I thought out was that ,I project the top curves onto cplane, then loft them together . This seems worked, but other problems occured .After I join boundary surfaces ,sometimes I get closed brep. sometimes i get open breps .It seems not stable .
Try this

Sorry , I didnot see this .Will try it now ! Thanks!!

Hi Deda,

Thanks for this help .Adjusting seams is great .

This logic is great ,but once the CPs of those curves is not the same , the result would not works prefectly ,like this case .

Maybe a "close brep" node would handle this ?(Inspired by David's close curve script, just a thought).

It changes when I modify something and look at them again:

I am crazy !!

OT : your Grasshopper looks odd ;)
To show what I mean more clearly ,see this picture:I use the same method(loft&join) and I get there brep: two of them are open brep and one is closed brep .I have to do some boolean computation after that , but I cant closed them .
what to do about these naked edges ? and them close these open breps ?
