Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

Can you help?

Why is the intersection of surfaces failing in the midship, while the cutting planes are made of the bounding box? See attached grasshopper file.

Why not just intersect with planes?
(I know it's not an answer to your question, but merely a different approach)

Just scale up your planes by 1.1X so they really do penetrate the body everywhere which right now they do not, they merely touch it in most places:

Beware of the endmost planes too, how they may overlap instead of penetrate the form.

Pieter's solution works since mathematical planes are infinite and don't suffer this finite surface problem.
