algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone,

 

i am stuck with the following situation:

 

what i want to do is a simple box-morph-thing. i want to populate a surface with a "component" (in this case a hex-grid)....

 

BUT

 

the lofted surface i want to be populated is trimmed. So although trimmed nicely in rhino

the DIVIDE DOMAIN SQUARE comp seems to be interpolating the surface and to "ignore" the cut outs....

 

SO

 

if I populate them (later on) the holes will not be existing anymore but "interpolated/populated" with the components (hex-grid or whatever) as well...

 

what I understand is that the rhino/GH surface is nurbs and not poly so there is always a kind of interpolation method used to generate such surface...

 

BUT

 

what to do to populate only the trimmed surface with the cut-outs?

 

Any ideas? is it possible with nurbs...? is it possible with a converted polysurface to be populated in gh later???

dispatch the not wanted elements with the inside component. Thats one way, but depends on how you want to have the edges look like?

ok, i seem to get the point...(interesting comp-i did not know yet)

mmmh, would be cool if the edges look smooth... :) but what would be to expect...?

Do i get right when i expect the inside comp to "keep" or "delete" the specific points (wether inside the volume of the surface or not) and then i can use these point (0-3) for my subsrfaces...?! So then the edges would be like "pixeled" or with lower "antialias" values e.g

mh, might work like this?
