Block extrusion_Managing list data

Hi, I exploded and offset a surface, now I am trying to create a pattern made of three blocks on each side but I don't want to extrude the central block.
I want to create a sort of courtyard building. Does anybody know how to organise points to be able to don't extrude the central box?

I am trying to create a square pattern constituted of three blocks on each side arranged around an empty space as in Square blocks file.
I am using a surface (Deformed blocks file) to have a distortion but I am not able to arrange points in order to don't extrude block 9, 11, 13 and so on.
I attach image and script.
Any help is welcome
