Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Which is the ideal .net version to use when making components for Rhino and Grasshopper? 3.0? 3.5? 4.0? Are there pros and cons to each one?

Thanks!

3.5 is compatible with both Rh4 and Rh5.

4.0 is not if I remember well (only working with rh5).

Yup. However since Grasshopper is now a Rhino5 only plug-in you may as well switch to .NET 4.0

Yes, but from what I saw there is still a quite large amount of people on Rhino4 (the upgrade will probably take one more year), so I would say that for a plugin it's always good to keep it cross-compatible at least during this transition period since it's technically feasible.

This sounds like a good plan! Which version of Grasshopper officially changed over to Rhino 5 only? Was it the 9.005* series?

Thanks!

If I remember correctly it was 0.9.0015 version.

0.9.0014 is the last build common to both versions.

Never heard about a 0.9.0015 public version but maybe I missed something, I think 0.9.0050 was the first RH5-only GH version.

It seems you are right Thibault.
I kinda remember David used to post some improvements from the 0.9.0015 version. But it seems he did not release that one.
Sorry for misinformation.
