algorithmic modeling for Rhino

hey guys!

i want to export different branches or trees of geometry to different DXF files for CNC milling. (Student project)

the geometry is should be exported to different layers.

i tried tttoolbox, but multi layer is not supported.

Do you have any idea how to solve this?

The deadline is comming closer...

Thank you for any help or hints!!!

Hi Bea,

I combined a few old scripts of mine. You need Andrew's human add-on to run this, and to grab all the layers from the document.

Hi Marios,

Thanks a lot for this. I'm trying to combine you definition with what I'd like to do but get stuck on 2 problems.

I'd like to move groups of objects in Rhino to zero-point and export them with each object on its specific layer, preferably with the original color.

Problem one is that I get stuck in a loop which I don't seem to find the cause for. It only exports the 4th group and keeps doing that.

The second problem is exporting with the right colour. Any thoughts on how to do this?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Marios,

I need to export only the curves in a certain area (a sheet).

I posted my question in more detail here

I was hoping you could have a look and give me some pointers

thx

Hi,

If you organise your date in data trees of infiormation and then iterate them with a tree branch component you can feed them as batched in the component below and consequently export them as batches.

Its more of a data management questions rather than a one related to the script above.

Hope this makes sense. If not a file would be more helpful.

Cheers,

M
