algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi all
I was trying to simulate a typical folding structure with Kangaroo, but looks like I cant
make it work. Im totally new with Kangaroo and I've seen this basic tutorial
but I cant make it work with the Hinge tool.
Could anybody tell me how to make this 2 triangles fold as I show in this screenshot?
Below are the grasshopper definition I've been trying to do following the Kangaroo basics video, and the two triangles 3dm file.
Thanks

see the attached definition for a fixed version
The hinge force alone does not keep the edge lengths of the triangles fixed, so I added some springs.
Also, the geometry input needs to be converted into lines to work.
Try switching the Reset toggle to True then back to False again.
Kangaroo always needs to Reset once to initialize the the simulation before playing it.
Ok, now I get it, its working great!
Another thing I wanted to ask is how the rest angle works, because it seems that the triangles fold exactly half of the angle I choose.
For example, in this pic I set 90 degrees and it seems to fold 45
in this picture I set 45 degrees and it seems to be folding 22,5
And another interesting thing is the result of setting an angle bigger than 165 degrees, aprox. The structure begins to rotate 360º and it never stops. Below is the definition if you want to see what Im talking
Is there a specific reason why this happens?
I have been following this thread and so far it has been really helpful, I have posted a thread question regarding multiple hinges being used in one script if you could possibly take a look.

Thank you in advance
