algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi All,
I'm trying to bake planar surfaces using the Parametric Truss example. I've used the example with Geco to create variable aperatures according to the peak solar radiation. However baking the planar surfaces from the otherwise fine grasshopper preview is not working properly, causing the most of the aperatures to fill with a surface upon baking.
Are there any typical issues with baking from the Planar Surfaces component?

Hi Dan,
is this a meshing issue? You can change the Rhino document meshing settings to try and get a better quality preview. (Options -> Document Properties -> Mesh)

I've come to understand the problem a little more. When I Mesh Brep the Planar Surface the preview result of the grasshopper mesh is identical to the baked planar surfaces. Looking at the mesh results I can see there are several meshes with one single face, I think I need to cull them.
What expression would cull meshes with a single face?
I wonder.. is it right to assume that grasshopper uses some a similar algorithm to generate baked surfaces than it does in the Brep Mesh component..?
Dan
Ah, didn't see your reply while writing my update, I'll check it out thanks.
Try un ticking simple planes option
Unticking simple planes worked Thanks!
