algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi gents

how can you array an object along a curve like in Rhino?

I have embedded an image of a model. What we would like
to do is to be able to cut out those sections for bikes
more interactively.

I thought having a curve projecting points on it (subdivision)
and then perpendicular to that curve instance a cube.

But my attempts in GH failed.

Any suggestion?

There are several optinos, you con either try to build your geometries starting from points you want to have replicated the geometry. (In the image you could try to build your pices from the points obtained dividing the circle. Or use move and rotate (or orient). Find the vector that conects the center point of your geometry (or the point where you want to have it) and the points in the curve. All grafted, then with the move component you can place all geometries at the right place. And then you can either oirent or rotate to have the desired directoin...

There are other solutions involving box or surface morph... but I don't like that components very much.

The orient component should do the trick for you.. its a copy and rotate operation in one go.

Pep, I am still having problems with finding the right vector.
I was looking into your suggestion as well.

BTW anybody of you knows how you could change the orientation of those
c planes? GH has no option for that in the horizontal (HFrames) and vertical c planes node tool.
You can make your own cplanes based on a number of parametres, look under the vectors.
the vector tools give me some headaches.

I wish there would be a better manual so I could read about the
tools and not asking so many silly questions.

Suryash, this is great, but I can't make it work on the z axis. I've tried it with perpendicular frames, adn get the planes fine, but it does some funny stuff when I try and orient my geometry along this new curve. Am i missing something?

Its just high-school math, nothing too complex. Just a little brush up would help, because without understanding vectors/planes/pts, one can't get very far with these kind of things. I often use this for help.
