Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I am trying to convert a number measured in grasshopper into architectural units, (for example converting (6.34375 to 6' 4-7/8"). Does anyone have a good strategy on how to accomplish this?

Thanks, I had figured out, but in a more cumbersome way, this makes things a lot easier
Sadly I don't have the copyright to "ArchDim" so it's all good!

This is many years old now, but one major flaw is that it only seems to round down, not up. So if you want units displaying in 1/4" for instance, if you have 1.93" it will display as 1 3/4" instead 2" (2" is more accurate)

Solution for this? Otherwise very helpful. Thank you

we blame the english... the pint however is a beautiful unit of measure.

I just finished a purely GH definition that converts any decimal value into feet and inches. You can specify the precision of the fraction (denominator) and toggle between input units (m, mm, ft, inches). The remaining fraction is also simplified.

This file was created with GH version 0.8.0007

Hover over the cluster for input info.

Let me know if you run into any bugs.

Hi Brian, Thanks a lot for sharing this, I find it really useful.

Is there a new version of this or is it handled a different way now?
