Any way to view the scripting of basic Grasshopper components?

Is there any way to see the scripts used to write basic Grasshopper components? For example if I wanted to see what's inside the "Boundary Surfaces" or "Rectangle" component. I'm brand new to python and in addition to other methods of learning, would love to just try to write python scripts for the basic components as a learning process.

That said, the holy grail I suppose would be a place where I could find the basic Grasshopper components re-coded in python (even a tutorial to this effect would be so helpful).

Either way, if anyone knows how to do any of the above I'd be greatly appreciative.

No, grasshopper is not open source, but is based on RhinoCommon, this is (I think) quite public. If you want to learn programming, attempts to do in python what you know to do in grasshopper, that is, is the process and how the elements are related to, not the elements themselves.

Daniel is correct, GH is not open source. I'm hopeful McNeel will be fine with me posting the Grasshopper2 components on GitHub, at least the ones that do not require huge amounts of custom code. But that won't help you for the time being.

Thanks David and Daniel for the quick replies. I will look forward to that possibility with Grasshopper2. In the meantime, I'll do as Daniel suggests and check out RhinoCommon. In fact that link helps a great deal, Daniel.

Also, since I have the opportunity I want to thank you David for the amazing program you've created!
