Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi everyone!

I'm trying to create a rendered animation form a model created in grasshopper. You can bake stuff in GH and then export them into a render proram as Cinema 4D, but then you can't make your object evolve. What I want to do is to have a slider for time and record my object while it is changing along the time. This function kinda exist inside GH but you can't render it. I've found some twisted ways to do this trough C++ code (or similar) but I think the result is not the best. Is there any way to create a sort of "4D" model that includes not only 3D information about model but also its evolution through time? If not, does anybody agree with me that it could be an interesting idea for developing a new GH plugin?

hope you understand, sorry for my bad grammar =)

Did you see this yet? http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/renderanimation-by-giulio....  Also, the Horseter plug-ins have some great camera controls.

Thanks! this seems to be very interesting, and yeah, it is a solution. However, I was thinking about something different, something that lets you work with a GH model, in ANY render tool such C4D rather than 3DS. Something like a script creator or... don't know

While I prefer using Giulio's RenderAnimation plugin with V-ray in rhino, another alternative would be something like Finches or Nathan Miller's new Lunchbox, both of which allow you to automate the process of exporting 3d models. It might be a bit weighty, but you could presumably export a separate file for every frame of an animation, and setup C4D or 3DS or some other package to batch render all the files.
