i have to create a sort of alligator skin effect, possibly usign attractors.
is it possible?

i see tutorials about attractors but using circles. i need to create no uniform profiles.

Hi Francesca,

Have a look at this topic, it can be a place to start, or an approach to follow

thanks...i try...
...but i need to be able to change cells dimensions like using attractor...
Maybe after getting the cells sorted, you can calculate the area centroid of the cells and scale them according to the attractor position, just an idea.

Cheers
Hi FRancesca,
A great documentary about crocodile skin:
http://www.channel4.com/programmes/inside-natures-giants/episode-gu...
Is there something specific you would like to reproduce in the skin or just how it looks?
Could you try modelling it on rhino and post an image?
Greetings,
Arthur
i want to modify a voronoi using attractor...so when i move attractor point che point that create the voronoi move themselves. specifically i have to create a texture like alligator skin with more little cells in the corners of an ipotetical square and bigger near the center.....

i need to create something like alligator skin ..... but want to be able to modify the texture.
Here's something that may do the trick for you.

great...cano yuo send to me also the rhino file?this is the first time that i use grasshopper and i don't understand the program construction.....
All you need is one point in your Rhino file, and GH will make the rest. Place a point in rhino, then right-click on the point component that's labeled "attractor point" and select "set one point". Then select the point you made in rhino, and start dragging it around to see how it affects the attractors.
sorry but in your file there aren't connections between different boxes..what i have to connect....for example to create the random grid
I'm sorry, I didn't realize you've never used grasshopper. However, you shouldn't have to connect any boxes. You should only have to reference a single point, and the result should appear. I'll include a rhino file and the definition again. Try downloading these. If you've never used grasshopper before, this definition is probably a bit too complicated for you to learn with, but hopefully will give you the result you need for now. If you're interested in grasshopper, you might want to start up with some tutorials, like those over at www.digitaltoolbox.info. Good luck!

Dear David,
I see your skin 1 png and is very good the drawing skin aligator.
My question is this GHX file can work direct in 2D closed curve?

My question is is possible change the side from the small tiles?

Send me your email for change some files to explain better my idea.

Best regards
