algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi everyone,
I am new to this form of mathematics and I was wondering if someone could explain to me what is happening in this equation?
(x^3-3*x*y^2)/100
I have attached the file if you require to look at that to understand.
Also - if anyone has any advice where/how I should go about learning this for GH, that would be great.

The surface elevation at every (x,y) coordinate is defined as the outcome of that equation. What you've done is roughly correct, though I prefer to use meshes for this sort of exploration, it tends to be quicker than surfaces.
So for example if you want to know how high the surface would be at the (x,y) coordinate (0.5, 2.25), then you'd have to evaluate (0.5³-3·0.5·2.25²)/100 ≈ -0.0746875
