algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi Friends,

Assuming that I'm mapping a series of surfaces on a hemisphere. I want to assign each surface normal as RGB color to each projected surface. Is there any way to record and export it as JPEG, PNG or anything accurately?

When I assign the RGB data to the surface preview I cannot get the same data when I export and read the pixel RGB data. I tired different style and none of them work accurately.

You see the differences below by compering the little circle inside each projected surface.

Any help is very appreciated.

the custom preview component will always shade the geometry - if you use "mesh colors" instead it will come out unshaded and color-accurate to your input RGB values.

Thanks a lot Andrew, it works now.

Hmm, that too depends on the Rhino viewport display mode. Certainly in Rhino6 it is possible to have vertex-coloured meshes shaded.

mean while, do you know how can I export a specific rectangle from rhino as an image? Or, how can I set the view port size?
