algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hey all,

Wondering if anyone out there could give me some help.... I have a grid of panels using Quad Panels from Lunchbox plugin and I want to create a different set of points in each one using Pop 2D.... So essentially I will have a randomly distributed set of points (let's say 10) in each panel where no two panels would be the same.  Each panel is unique.

My guess is that I would use Hoopsnake, but I haven't used it before so I'm having a little trouble thinking up the logic on how to arrange the sequence.... My guess is that I have to pick each panel and Pop2D each one using a different random seed number... just not sure how to get that process to keep looping

Attached is a jpg and the gh file... although I'm not sure how much the gh file will help, it's a little messy, and a lot cleaned up from when I was working on it

Thanks!!

You can either choose to populate the entire area, then figure out which points are on which panel, or you could choose to populate each panel individually. Though in the latter case I recommend [Populate Geometry], not [Populate 2D]. Be sure to supply a unique seed value for each panel as well, to make sure they are all different.

David,

Thanks... I managed to get Hoopsnake to work for me.  I used it to call up just a single panel and supply a unique seed to each one. Works just like I wanted it to... I didn't use the Populate Geometry though, maybe I will try this and see what the difference is... Will it help with the lag when I'm using high values?

Thanks again

Jason
