Accessing component state in Python

I'm trying to access a component in python using ghpythonlib.components but in some cases, such as BoundingBox, I need to access the state the component uses for its execution (i.e I need to uses "Union Box" instead of the default state "Per Object") is there a way to do it?

Thanks Tom, I found a method that do not makes use of ghpythonlib.components, however, i do use several components after that, why do you think ghpythonlib.components is not good? I'm not really familiar with it, but I have implemented several of its functions in the script I'm working on.
