Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

I'm really interested in the Galaxy SOHO project by Zaha Hadid:

and i tried to make a grasshopper definition like so

it's not so hard to make 4 individual circle towers, but when two circle towers meet and fuse into one [like biological cells], I really don't know how to connect them smoothly.

any hint?

thanks,

I'd guess the original shells are made in T-Splines, if in Rhino at all.

i think you can try simly draw smoothly connections by curves, loft etc. in rhino :D, nice way is also metaball, splines beetween elipsses (towers), i think the is no main parametric definition for "zaha forms", first sketh of design, idea and using digital tools for help and changes.

Try metaballs and squize them > galaxy soho
