Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

A suggestion. A opportunity to replace a component keeping the output connections.

Hi

I often struggle in my GHX files to redo my output connections from a replaced component, for example a slider. Maybe it is possible, then please let me know.
If it is not, then it maybe could be worth to concider to incorporate  in a future build?

Hi Stigvg,

I brought this to David's attention last August here was the discussion:
http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/wish-easy-way-to-replace

I don't know if he's given it any development time as of yet. As a work around I've been using basic Params to store wire terminations when swapping around components, basically like the Exploded Component Image in the original post and then draw a single wire from these to the new component.
Hi.
I try to remember to use those in between components too, but I often forget. Especially when i am using sliders I get the problem. If it could be possible just to make a holder of the outputs, a passive component having and input and a output.
The simplest way to approach this, to my mind, would be to have something akin to "extract parameter" but in the other direction - this would remain in line with the way the interface currently works and save the trouble of figuring out how to manage bundled groups of connections as David suggested in the earlier thread.
Yeah, but it would be nice if extract parameter worked when the input wasn't empty
