algorithmic modeling for Rhino

A center point with a very big radius seems to produce an invalid sphere.

Why this is the case?

Is it possible to make it valid?

I attached the definition below.

The radius is not the issue it is the location. If you are trying to work with ridiculously large numbers then I suggest you don't do it too far away from the origin.

 

EDIT the extremities of the sphere are 20,000,000,000,000,000 units from the origin. To put it into Austin Powers numbers that's 20 Quadrillion

The way I got this sphere was quite out of my control. I used TryGetSphere function to test a surface and this was the resultant sphere.

I tested again and found one interesting thing. If I set the value of radius to 1, it's a valid surface. If I wire that big radius to it, it becomes invalid, which means the radius will also make it invalid.

I am having similar problem with sphere of radius 100,000mm, centered about that same distance from 0,0,0

But i can work around the problem by generating the sphere at 0,0,0 then moving it to its required position. Is this behaviour in line with what you would expect Danny?
