Smart Geometry 2014

The karamba team & the research group at the Institute for Structural Design / University of Applied Arts Vienna, in cooperation with Bollinger-Grohmann Vienna + Paris and KPNE Denmark, cordially invites to participate in our workshop at the upcoming SmartGeometry conference 'Urban Compaction' from July 14th to 19th 2014 at the Chinese University of Hongkong.

In four days of intensive workshop we are fusing Chinese tradition with digital planning & optimization to ultimately build a superlightweight urban pop-up pavillon made of bamboo, paper, and inflated PVC balloons.

The workshops will be followed by a two-day conference, featuring invited international keynote speakers showcasing major projects and research from around the globe that mark out the territory of the year's Challenge 'Urban Compaction'.
