AA MakeLAB is an intensive, 6-day visiting school programme engaging in innovative architectural design and construction processes using advanced digital design methods and customised fabrication technologies.
Using innovative digital design and build workflows, the programme aims to explore new modes of design conception, driven through the real-time translation of environmental and social performance data measured during on-site construction. Using the AA Hooke Park’s unique forestry and workshop resources to build 1:1 structures, it offers the iterative development and critical evaluation of their experimental methodology in real life.
This year's tutor team will include Thomas Grabner and Ursula Frick (Geco), Jon Mirtschin (Geometry Gym), Brendon Carlin and Jeroen van Ameijde (AA).
