The Digital Eclecticism Workshop series is based around teaching an overview of digital tools, techniques and ideas through hands-on design of a 3D-printed product. Participants will learn how to design and model a product specifically for 3D printing. This involves an in-depth introduction in 3D modelling software packages, combined with personal design tutorials and discussions. Alongside the workshop, a lecture series with invited artists and designers will bring participants in touch with the cutting edge of digital practitioners in London.
This first workshop in the Digital Eclecticism series will focus on designing small 3D printed objects with a specific focus on post-processing of printed material. 3D printed products will be expanded by post-processing them with colours, resins or by using them as a negative for casting. Typical products could be: rings, hangers, bracelets, cutlery, a small sculpture, etc
