Architecture in Combination is a discussion series dedicated to creating new connections to the architecture, engineering, and construction industry. Recent technological advances (Grasshopper, CATIA, BIM) allow a wide variety of data taken from different fields of research to directly influence the driving parameters of an architectural, or structural, model. Is this connection informed? Should it be? Can structures be made more constructable and sustainable by these combinations? The discussion series aims to explore popular combinations such as architecture and music, as well as investigate the possibility of combining physics, haptics, and artificial neural networks with constructable, sustainable design.
