algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi GH community,

I've created a few profile circles offset from a curve and I want to scale the profiles based on their distances of each circle's centre from an attractor point which slides along the afore mentioned curve. [see pic]

I'm trying to generate the <scale> factor based on the lengths along the curve but am having trouble doing something as simple as this?

Hope you can help, thanks in advance!

Cheers,

GH Newbie

You can try using the Sub Curve and measuring its length :

(closed curves will need more work)

Thanks for the help! Unfortunately, my version of gh won't open your file... could I get a snapshot of it instead?

When the attractor point is exactly on one of the points generating the profiles, the length will be null instead of 0 (because the subcurve is null). You can fix that using the Null component to filter those.

Thx, this solve my question ;)
