Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi All,

I'm still kind of beginner in grasshopping. I'm trying to divide this mesh...

...and create a nice diamond pattern like this one:

I tried many solutions but none of them work. I'm confused because I thought I can do it. Someone could help me?

Thank you in advance

Hi ilmm24,

how is the diamond pattern supposed to look at the Y-Branch areas?

I suspect thateverywhere might be the same "regular" pattern. Something like here:

I just checked this topic:

http://www.grasshopper3d.com/forum/topics/how-to-create-nodesbone

and I was thinking - maybe it should be done form a mesh relaxation level - with Kangaroo? It's possible? To get regullar,  triangulated pattern (let's forget about the diamonds) like in the picture above... more or less? I just tried but without any succes. Any help?Tnx

With Kangaroo you can achieve a more ordered mesh faces but you have to be very careful with set-up of the base mesh you use for relaxation.
