Grasshopper

algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi all,

I'm relatively new with Grasshopper and completely new on this forum, but I hope that someone can help me out.

I have created a collection of Breps arranged close together. However, I also need to access the space between these. Therefore I've made a Union Bounding Box and then a Solid Difference between the set of flattened set of Breps and the Bounding box.

My problem is that this only works with the Breps that intersects with the surface of the box:

I can go around this problem by baking the objects into Rhino and then do a BooleanDifference, but this is quite tedious and I was hoping to find a way around this?

Thank you!

I think it would be difficult for you to make that kind of solid object.

Solid means you can distinguish inside & outside face, i.e. face normal, and you can see the outside (or flipped face)only.

Maybe you can make a group object which contains middle part of breps

Thanks for your input.

I tried using the group object, but it does not seem to do any difference. It could be me not using it the right way.

I might just need to do the conversion through Rhino..

Your suggestion led me to another idea: To do it layerwise, to avoid having interior Breps and then joining the objects afterwards. It works!
