algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Optimization with datas as whole improve 0.03 displacement amount and change a lot for the massing apperance, since Ladybug's wind speed is difficult to understand what fomula to caculate with Karamba point loads. Therefore, this stops at…

Simple script to deform manually (from Rhino) the points of a mesh, using its vertices, edges or faces.
I've done this script in an afternoon (just for play) to change the mesh points manually from Rhino. It is useful to make small modifications of a mesh quickly, really not useful for modeling from a primitive (because does not have functions to subdivide edges or faces, collapse vertex, selection tools, etc.). But I share it because it is very simple and may be useful for…

EVOLUTIONARY ALGORITHM IN ENERGY DESIGN
What is the role of local climate in building design? How does inputs buildings shape? Which parameters influence buildings shape!? Sun, wind, daylight, visibility...? How to define this parameters and simulate them? How to simulate and evaluate form? How to work…

Nowhere do the disciplines of art, architecture, and engineering fuse as seamlessly as in the work of inventor Chuck Hoberman, internationally known for his “transformable structures.” Through his products, patents, and structures, Hoberman demonstrates how objects can be foldable, retractable, or shape-shifting. Such capabilities lead to functional benefits: portability, instantaneous opening, and intelligent responsiveness to the built environment.…

Hello guys.
I’ve been trying for quite a few days now, to find a solution to planarize these voronoi cells.
The idea behind this model is to redefine the inner structure of an actual wall, to do so, I used a voronoi pattern and what I expect from the algorithm is a bunch of planar cells which then I can transform into tridimensional cells that I’ll be able to fabricate later. To do so, I need to have planar voronoi cells; this is quite difficult now since I can’t figure out a…

ContinueThe elective course on digital woodwork aimed at the development of an innovative construction, based on self-supporting, reciprocal systems.
The reciprocal frame is a roof structure where each beam both supports and is supported by other beams in the roof structure. A minimum of 3 beams is required to create a reciprocal frame roof. As each beam supports the…

PhylloMachine is a set of scripts/UserObject for Grasshopper to model plants using some properties of phyllotaxis.
The basic idea is that a mesh with phyllotaxis proportions has a topology described by two Fibonacci numbers, and its topology (indices of vertices of faces, parastichies spirals, cycles and topological neighbors)…

I modified this nice script due to roly hudson (see here) for generating Penrose tilings to include a decoration of the tiling by triangles. The result is a non-periodic pattern on the plane by a system of corner-sharing triangles (i.e. there are two triangles at each vertex). This is sometimes called a 2-D combinatorial…
