algorithmic modeling for Rhino

These experiments were carried out with RhinoVAULT2, a Rhinoceros plug-in developed by the Block Research Group that uses three-dimensional graphic statics to generate antifunicular shells, shells that essentially exert axial compression stresses. Therefore, this form-finding process allows the generation of structures that can be built with materials that essentially resist compression (such as stone, brick or concrete). However, it is important to mention that the composition of cantilevered antifunicular shells recquires the vertical movement of the support points along suspended perimeters and these suffer horizontal impulses and tensions that must be counteracted with materials that resist this type of stress.
