I saw your question about curved folding for the Karamba folks and wonder whether you have tried the Origami component of Kangaroo.  As long as you use Line-Line Intersection to break up long curves and Weaverbird to create meshes, this works pretty well: http://www.grasshopper3d.com/group/kangaroo/forum/topics/new-origam...
