Hummingbird

Hummingbird is a set of Grasshopper components that facilitate the creation of Revit native geometry. This process exports basic geometric properties and parameter data to CSV text files which is used to describe many aspects of the Revit BIM geometry. In Revit this data is easily imported using the Whitefeet Modelbuilder tool (included).

Translating Rhino primative geometry to Revit has been vastly simplified without the need for linking or reference objects. This allows for the downstream Revit model to be modified and adapted for the project duration.

Chicago Facades + Innovation

Hello Mario and Tim,

I recently saw you guys mentioned in this workshop (see below.)

3. FACADE PATTERNING: Translation from Grasshopper into Revit
This workshop will introduce a variety of patterning techniques in Grasshopper and how they apply to the design of facades.  We will then investigate interoperability between Grasshopper and Revit – exploring the tools that are making this translation possible: Geometry Gym, Hummingbird, Chameleon & Import OpenNurbs to Revit.  Where possible, we will have the developers of these tools present via Skype to share their stories for how the software emerged, and to provide an in-depth understanding of the limitations of each tool.  Workshop attendees should have an introductory understanding of both Grasshopper & Revit.

Just curious if you guys participated, and if this information (either the recorded skype conversation / or in some other format) is available.  This would be valuable insight.

Kind regards,

Matt
