WISH: RCP toolbar Button to minimise and maximise the canvas

Hi David,

It just struck me that a convenient way to do this from the Remote Control Panel would be nice.

Normally I work on two monitors and it doesn't cause any issue to have the canvas open all the time, But when I am trying to evaluate something else on the second monitor in another program moving the Rhino Viewport around brings the canvas back to the front so I minimise GH and use RCP. Once I'm done I then have to find GH in the bottom left hand corner and maximise it.

Thanks Danny,

P.S. Are you going to be in London for the Shape to Fabrication conference?

You mean actually minimize and maximize the window, or do the foldy-uppy thing? Or hide and show the window? I myself find it very annoying when the GH window is minimized.

And yes, I'll be at S2F this year.

The purpose of RCP is to make invisible grasshopper, why allow the view from this one.
Please do not do that.

We may just have an icon that displays or hides grasshopper ...

With beautifful icone "grasshopper"

David,

Is it possible to know the list of parameters to integrate RCP in future versions?

The purpose of RCP is to make invisible grasshopper,

you need to elaborate this to be "The purpose of the RCP is to conveniently remove the canvas from sight whilst it is not needed"

Do not make the RCP out to be the sole use of non-Grasshopper users and therefore a handy ready made UI. It is simply a means to provide an interface to the canvas where a limited number (if not all variables) are available.

If you want people to use grasshopper then they should use grasshopper not just the RCP

S2F: Excellent, I'll buy you a beer.

Yes of course.

My case is different, I develop functions in grasshopper and publish a user who does not use it.
With a rhino menu or a button, each function starts a grasshopper definition (ShowEditor Hide)
Each definition has a RCP containing the parameters of my function.

But I understand your request...

No reason it cannot be customised for each one.

Basically I don't want Grasshopper to jump to the top when I move around in Rhino as it masks the second monitor that I'm trying to look at to compare -for example- locations in Google Earth.

The simple way for me has been to minimise it, as this brings it all the way to the bottom left hand corner of the primary monitor and therefore out of the way of the second.

Roll up/down, minimise/maximise or never ontop/always ontop makes no difference to me.
