algorithmic modeling for Rhino

Hi,

I’m going to create a waffle structure in mdf laser cut, but I have a question about the notches.

If the thickness of the mdf of the ribs is 2.5 mm, how much should be the width of the notches of the gh model to have a perfect joint for the assembly (not too tight nor too loose) ?

Thanks

For MDF and plywood I would normally increase the slots by 0.1mm
The real question is how consistent is your sheet thickness and how accurate is your cutting?
Sheet thickness can vary across the sheet and laser cutting is influenced by the machine parameters.
Check out the Bowerbird plugin as this let's you quickly change slot widths to suit.
