Subsets in Metaballs

I'm using the metaball component and its working fine except for the fact that its not completely smooth. I'd like to create a subset so that say one contour references the points above and below it to calculate that contour. Thanks so much for anyone that can help

Angie,

Try this file. By increasing the range of the points that each metaball plane is calculating, it smoothes the data out (at the expense of increasing the number of points in each calculation).

i've played a bit with your definition.
first i have downloaded this plugin.

then i've pluged the mesh with wbloop.
i have increased the integer value to 3.
unfortunately, the result is not so fine.
how would you do it , to create a smooth surface?

p.s. tspline does not work, currently...
