algorithmic modeling for Rhino
Hi!
Well, I'm new in Grasshopper and i'm trying to make a something like a origami tower (?) The point is that me and lunchbox or me and kangaroo doesn't work together, so i'm doing it trimming the tower skin (right now just the first level) with the lines of the triangulation. The point is that I don't know why the moment I want to split the surface with the curves, from nowhere there appears lines that doesn't even have points of reference that exist. This lines takes midpoints of segments that i didn't divide.
Please help me!
PS. Sorry if the introduction wasn't neccesary, actually I didn't know how to start so I just threw that.

Hi,
Your code takes so long to solve that it makes interaction virtually impossible.
I'm not sure why you're using a triangular grid but wonder if a completely different approach might be worth considering? The perimeter curve repeats itself six times so why not concentrate on just 1/6th of the problem, then use the 'Polar Array' transformation to make the complete tower wall (or one "floor" of it, anyway).
For example, if you do your origami magic using the surfaces, edges and points in green (below), then pass your results through the 'Polar Array' component, you might have a much more manageable solution, and one that is far quicker to compute?
Thank you for replying. I was trying to use the first option you give, the polar array, but i have some more parameters that wouldn't work with that. The unit of the origami tower is the equilateral triangle, that's why its skin and even the extruded curve should be from the triangular grid. Also, it's not a one-axis tower, its levels are gonna be... Sorry for my english. I'm gonna attach some images to explain it better. As you can see I have continue even with the error, but it just gets worse every level I add. If you come up with anything, I'll wait.
