Smoothing meshes over an irregular planar surface

I'm a second year architecture student and for studio I'm designing a pavilion styled structure which I'm attempting to "inflate". I'm using the kangaroo component and I am pretty close, except my starting planar surface is a highly irregular one with 11 curves, and 12 points I'm using as anchors. As a result the mesh work I am generating with weaverbird is a mess and the whole structure looks incredibly unrefined. I've been trying to track down some good information on smoothing, equalizing and conformalizing techniques but haven't found any. I've seen demo videos but no accompanying definitions and I am very new to the kangaroo engine so working it out by trial and error is getting me further away from a solution.

I've attached some examples of the design work I'm going for since I want to achieve a similar modular component to build the structure out of and hence need to fix this mesh problem.

It'd be great to have this sorted over the weekend, but figuring this out in general would be awesome.

Cheers.
